Privacy policy
This notice explains, in accordance with Article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, in German DSGVO), how Gerleu Interactive Media GmbH handles personal data when you visit gerleu.fit or contact us.
Controller
The controller within the meaning of Article 4 (7) GDPR is Gerleu Interactive Media GmbH, Landsberger Allee 117a, 10407 Berlin, Germany, telephone +49 30 5557 4208, email [email protected]. The Managing Director, Jonas Rehberg, represents the controller.
Which data we process and why
When you open a page, our server records the technical details needed to deliver it: the requested address, the date and time, a truncated network address, the referring page where one is supplied, and the browser identification string. We process these details to keep the service available and secure, and our legal basis is Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in operating a stable and safe website.
When you contact us by email or through a request form, we process the information you provide, such as your name, your email address and the content of your message. We use it only to answer your enquiry, and our legal basis is Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your request concerns a service arrangement, and otherwise Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
When you subscribe to a paid tier, we process the account and billing details necessary to provide the service and to meet statutory accounting duties. The legal bases are Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR for performance of the contract and Article 6 (1) (c) GDPR for compliance with legal obligations. Invoicing records are retained for the periods required by German commercial and tax law.
Storage in your browser
We use your browser’s local storage for a single technical purpose: remembering which section of our navigation you last visited so the interface behaves consistently. This entry contains no identifying information and no tracking value. Our cookie policy describes this in more detail.
No advertising trackers
Gerleu carries no advertising networks, no social media plugins and no behavioural tracking. We do not create profiles of readers, and we do not transfer personal data to third parties for marketing. We share data only with technical service providers who host the site or send our email on our behalf, and only under contracts that satisfy Article 28 GDPR.
Transfers outside the European Union
Our hosting and email providers operate within the European Union. Should a transfer to a third country ever become necessary, we rely on an adequacy decision of the European Commission or on the standard contractual clauses, together with additional safeguards where required.
How long we keep data
Server logs are kept for a short technical period and then removed. Enquiry messages are kept only as long as needed to resolve the matter and to honour any follow-up. Billing records are kept for the statutory retention periods, which are generally six or ten years under German law.
Your rights
You have the right of access under Article 15 GDPR, the right to rectification under Article 16, the right to erasure under Article 17, the right to restriction of processing under Article 18, and the right to data portability under Article 20. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests at any time under Article 21 GDPR. Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time; the withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it. Right to complain
You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Information Access (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationssicherheit). You may also address the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Information Access (BfDI). The right to complain exists alongside any other legal remedy.
Changes to this notice
We update this notice when the way we handle data changes. The version published on this page is the one that governs. If a change is significant, we will note it on the home page for a reasonable period.
